Job summary

Community Access Services in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals in the Day Support Activities program. This part-time role offers paid training, competitive pay, and opportunities to engage with the community.

You will help with daily living skills, community participation, and personal development while following individualized support plans. No prior DSP experience required; training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license required for day and swing shifts.
• Ability to pass a national background check.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with mobility.
• Willingness to complete required training and follow safety plans.

Responsibilities

• Daily Living Support: assist with personal care, hygiene, dressing, meals, and household tasks.
• Community Engagement: support participation in recreational activities and events.
• Independence and Life Skills: help individuals build practical skills and confidence.
• Person-Centered Support: encourage self-advocacy and informed choice.
• Medication Support: provide medication assistance as trained.
• Documentation and Communication: record services and report incidents.
• Team Collaboration: work with coworkers, families, and support networks.
• Respect and Confidentiality: maintain professional boundaries.
