Advocates Incorporated in Baldwinsville, NY is seeking a dedicated Mentor (DSP/1:1) to support a gifted young adult with a developmental disability. You will teach essential independent living skills, communication, and social interaction while coordinating community activities and outings.

You can make a difference in the life of someone special! Advocates is looking for a creative and compassionate Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) and teacher to work with a gifted young adult with a developmental disability. In this critical role, you will help him in learning key independent living skills, teach him skills to communicate and interact with others, and assist him in experiencing social, recreational, and physical fitness opportunities in the community. The ideal candidate will have effective communication and leadership skills, patience, and strong organizational skills. Internet access and a valid email address are required.Hours and days of workMonday/Wednesday/Friday (4 PM - 8 PM)Pay rate: $24 per hour when providing direct support.
