Job summary

The Charles Lea Center in Smithfield, NC, is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to help individuals with disabilities live independently in residential settings.

You will work overnight shifts with weekend rotations, provide daily living assistance, documentation in Therap, and participate in training with a benefits package including medical/dental/vision, 401(k), PTO, tuition reimbursement, and an onsite wellness clinic.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred (DSP, CNA, PCA, RBT, Med Tech, Caregiver).
• Valid driver’s license and Social Security number.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.
• Ability to pass required background and reference checks.

Responsibilities

Overnight Shift Availability Required

• Monday–Friday: 11:00 PM – 9:00 AM
• Every Other Weekend (Saturday & Sunday): 8:00 PM/9:00 PM – 8:00 AM/9:00 AM
• Flexibility to work overnight and weekend hours is essential.

About The Role

As a DSP, you’ll work in a residential setting supporting individuals with disabilities in their daily lives. Your responsibilities may include:

• Assist with daily living skills, grooming, meals, personal care, and medication administration.
• Support individuals in activities, community outings, and skill-building.
• Promoting independence and dignity in every interaction
• Document daily notes, training steps, and updates in Therap.
• Communicate important information to supervisors and team members.
• Follow safety, infection control, and agency policies.
• Maintain professionalism, teamwork, and positive interactions.

What You’ll Need

Work Location Flexibility
