Job summary

Bridgewell is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Lynn, MA to support people with developmental, physical and psychiatric disabilities in residential and community settings. You will assist with activities of daily living, skills training, and daily care while maintaining documentation and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 5+ years of verified experience in the same position is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a minimum of one year of driving experience in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and assist people in skills training in all activities of daily living during the day, evening and/or overnight hours.
• Create opportunities and provide support to people to develop independence and decision-making.
• Provide services according to applicable regulations and Bridgewell policies and procedures.
• Provide support with all medical, clinical and financial needs.
• Transport and accompany people to activities outside the program.
• Maintain daily progress notes and required documentation.
• Complete household cleaning duties as assigned.
• Conduct all steady care calls as per guidelines for overnight shifts.
• Assist people with accessing community resources and recreation.
• Administer medications according to MAP regulations where applicable.
• Maintain training certifications such as FA/CPR, PABC and MAP.
• Maintain additional mandated certifications as required.
• Develop positive relationships with guardians and stakeholders.
• Serve as Fire Safety Officer or Safety Coordinator or Human Rights Officer.
• Comply with Bridgewell Safety Checks Policy.
• Attend program staff meetings and supervision sessions.
• Other duties as assigned.
