Job summary

Citizen Care Inc., a subsidiary of Partners For Quality Inc., is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with daily living in residential homes across Allegheny County. You will help with personal care, accompany individuals to appointments, prepare meals, and support community involvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Reliable means of transportation.
• Driver's license preferred.
• Ability to lift and transfer without restrictions.
• Act 34 and FBI clearances as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living in a residential setting.
• Help with personal hygiene, bathing, and toileting.
• Assist with medical appointments and administering prescribed medications.
• Meal preparation and following prescribed diets.
• Household chores such as laundry, vacuuming, and dusting.
• Support community participation and supervise for safety.

Citizen Care Inc., a subsidiary of Partners For Quality Inc., provides residential, day program, habilitation, supported employment opportunities and behavioral support services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) will be responsible for assisting individuals with their activities of daily living in a residential home setting. Duties include, but are not limited to assisting each person with:

• Helping people to realize their hopes and dreams
• Personal hygiene needs, including bathing and toileting
• Medical appointments
• Administering prescribed medications
• Meal preparation, cooking and following prescribed diet
• Household chores such as laundry, vacuuming and dusting
• Participating in community life such as shopping, leisure activities and visiting family and friends
• Providing supervision to assure safety and welfare
