Job summary

Global Horizon Care Services is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional to provide care and support for individuals in their homes and community. The role involves 1:1 support, 1st shift, and meriden-related assignments, with mileage reimbursement for approved travel.

The DSP will mentor and provide job coaching, transport individuals using a personal vehicle, and participate in community activities to promote independence and well-being.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people with disabilities, autism, or senior care.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary.
• Knowledge of social work principles and practices.
• Familiarity with assisting individuals in assisted living, group home, and/or 1 on 1 residential settings.
• Proficiency in monitoring vital signs and responding to medical emergencies.

• Support and transport individuals in participating in social and recreational activities.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals.
