Job summary

Reach for Independence, Inc. is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to help individuals with developmental disabilities build independence and participate in their communities. This role is based in Buncombe County, NC with pay of $17.00/hour and flexible full- and part-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Willingness to complete required training and Core Competencies.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and follow directions.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Pre-employment screening required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to help individuals with daily living and independent living skills.
• Support individuals to participate in work, community activities, and meaningful choices.
• Encourage social, interpersonal, and communication development.
• Maintain accurate daily documentation and timesheets.
• Monitor health and safety and respond to changing needs.
• Assist with personal care, transportation, and community integration as needed.
