The Trudeau Center in Warwick, RI is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide hands-on support in group homes, helping individuals with daily routines, personal care, and social activities. You will foster dignity, independence, and joy in daily life.

A typical day includes assisting with bathing, dressing, meals, encouraging independence, health appointments, and maintaining accurate documentation. Flexible scheduling and a mission-driven team await.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; experience in similar settings is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and reliable vehicle.
• Strong communication, patience, and teamwork are essential.
• Comfort with physical activity (lifting up to 40 lbs, bending, walking).
• Willingness to learn Safety-Care and behavior support techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support in group homes and assist with daily routines and personal care.
• Encourage independence, community involvement, and health-related needs.
• Assist with documentation and create a safe, positive environment.
• Support transportation and activities as part of daily living.

What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll provide hands-on support in one of our group homes. You'll help individuals with daily routines, personal care, social activities, and more, helping them live with dignity, independence, and joy.

A Typical Day Might Include:

• Assisting with personal care (bathing, dressing, meals, as needed)
• Encouraging independence and community involvement
• Supporting health needs and appointments
• Helping with household tasks
• Building strong, trusting relationships
• Keeping clear, accurate documentation
• Create a safe, positive, encouraging atmosphere

What We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent (experience in similar settings a plus!)
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and personal vehicle
