Job summary

Advancing Opportunities, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Toms River, NJ for part-time hours from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The role pays $19.50–$20.50 per hour, with paid training provided and DailyPay availability.

You will deliver direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, support daily living, accompany to activities, and maintain a safe environment while documenting progress per plans.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain required certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to successfully complete state and federal background checks, drug screening, pre-employment physical, and PPD screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
• Prepare meals and provide feeding assistance when needed.
• Support daily living skills and greater independence.
• Help individuals participate in community activities, appointments, and social events.
• Provide companionship, encouragement, and supportive guidance.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
• Follow individualized support plans, goals, and procedures.
• Promote dignity, respect, inclusion, and person-centered care.

What You’ll Do

As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide direct care and person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
