Job summary

Independent Beginnings, LLC in Sidney, OH is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to provide compassionate care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will assist with daily living activities, personal care, light housekeeping, and meal prep, while promoting independence and safety.

We offer a range of shifts (full-time and part-time, days, nights, weekends) with competitive hourly pay of $18.00–$19.00, weekly pay, and benefits including

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must communicate in English, including spoken and written.
• Must successfully complete a criminal background check.
• Must have a personal vehicle if transporting clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• Help with daily activities including personal care, housekeeping, and meal preparation.
• Work with a team of co-workers, clients' family, and medical professionals to promote independence.
• Transport clients to appointments and activities (mileage reimbursement).

What we will provide you as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver:

• $18.00- $19.00/Hour (depending on experience, longevity and behavior)
• $3 weekend add-on rate (applies to certain shifts and conditions)

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver you will:

• Provide direct care to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities
• Help with daily activities including personal care, housekeeping, and meal preparation
• Work closely with a team of people including co-workers, client's family members, and medical professionals to help our clients to live as independent as possible
• Transport clients as needed to appointments and other activities (mileage reimbursement)

QualificationsRequirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to communicate in English, including both spoken and written
• A personal vehicle that is well maintained if transporting clients
• Must successfully complete a criminal background check

Preferred Experience:

• One year working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver / Home Health Aide / Home Health Care / Personal Care experience is a plus

Licenses/Certifications:

• CPR/First Aid - Provided if you are not currently certified
• Medication Administration - Provided if you are not currently certified
• Must have a valid driver's license with no more than 5 points on your driving record if transporting clients
• DODD Provider Training
• Proof of personal auto insurance
