Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with IDD in their homes and communities.

Flexible part-time hours include weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Responsibilities include daily living tasks, transportation, scheduling, and documentation in the electronic health record; bilingual candidates are a plus.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or ability to learn quickly.
• Reliable transportation and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Care in the home of the individual and in the community.
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal prep, cooking, and cleaning; personal care including bathing and dressing; and employment support.
• Transport the client to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize their schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll play a critical role in carrying out that mission by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals.

Position details: Part time hours: flexible for weekdays, evenings, and weekends *BILINGUAL A PLUS*

Location: Lexington (high rock lake area), Concord or Salisbury, NC

Compensation: $15.00/hour

Your Role in Our Mission

• You will provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing; and employment support
• You may transport the client to appointments and run errands
• Help plan and organize their schedule
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record
