Job summary

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for our New Castle, DE program to assist residents with daily living activities and personal care. This role emphasizes compassion, mentoring, and enabling independence in individuals with developmental disabilities.

Schedule: Thursday and Friday 3p-11p, Saturday 11a-11p. No experience required—paid training provided. Payrate is $18.75 per hour, with opportunities to grow within a supportive nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D. preferred.
• Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities, including housekeeping and laundry.
• Provide encouragement, mentoring, and coaching to help residents achieve goals.
• Support residents to navigate daily routines under supervision of the House Manager.

Your work is performed in accordance with appropriate procedures under the supervision of the House Manager who reviews results through living area observation of activities in progress, residents’ responsiveness, inspection of living area, reports, and periodic meetings.
