Job summary

United and Empowered is seeking compassionate caregivers for Day Support and Community Engagement roles in Lynchburg, Virginia. These full-time positions run weekdays 8 am–5 pm, with a $14–$15/hour pay and a new hire sign-on bonus of $250 after 90 days and a further $250 after 6 months.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living, guiding individuals, promoting independence, and completing data collection per the person-centered plan.

Qualifications

• Active caregiving experience or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to engage with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• Excellent communication and observation skills.

AVAILABLE PROGRAM POSITIONS:

DAY SUPPORT: $14 - $15/Hour - 8 am - 5 pm / Mon-Friday

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: $14 - $15/Hour - 8 am - 5 pm / Mon-Friday

Duties:

• Responsible for assisting with the physical care, guidance, and outreach in the Community.
• Performs activities and duties to help individuals develop acceptable habits and attitudes; helps the individuals meet the outcomes of any service or behavioral plan; ensures daily needs and health and safety of the individual are met; assists individuals with daily hygiene and personal living skills; completes data collection in accordance with the person-centered plan; responds quickly and appropriately to unpredictable behavior and circumstances. Other duties as required. If you are a caregiver, this is the position for you.
• Our Community Engagement and Community Coaching program gives individuals the opportunity to participate in community activities like training, volunteering, and other activities to build their independence and social skills

REQUIREMENTS:

• ACTIVE AND UP TO DATE DRIVER'S LICENSE
• High school diploma, GED, or 2 Years of documented experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities, Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Special Ed, etc.
• DMV record and Social Security Card
• Must pass criminal background investigation
• Must be fully vaccinated
