Job summary

Sistas Connected LLC in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional to provide personalized care for individuals with disabilities. Join a mission-driven team dedicated to dignity, inclusion, and meaningful everyday support.

You will assist with daily living tasks, document progress, administer medications as directed, and help clients participate in community activities while maintaining safety and respect.

Qualifications

• Direct care experience or exposure to human services preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to document progress accurately and maintain records.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with disabilities (IDD).
• Assist clients with personal hygiene, meal prep, and household tasks.
• Support community integration by accompanying clients to appointments, activities, and outings.
• Implement ISPs and document progress accurately.
• Administer medications and monitor health needs as directed.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all clients.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
• Assist clients with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks
• Support community integration by accompanying clients to appointments, activities, and outings
• Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
• Administer medications and monitor health needs as directed
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all clients
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or a related human services field preferred
• Knowledge of person-centered care practices and disability rights
• Valid driver\'s license and reliable transportation preferred
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to pass a background check and any required state clearances
