Job summary

Addus HomeCare is seeking Direct Support Professionals to help seniors and people with disabilities live independently. Earn up to $15.68 per hour with flexible hours and a path into a rewarding health-care career.

This entry-level role emphasizes compassionate care, reliability, and strong communication to support clients in daily living and safety. You will follow care plans, assist with personal care, manage light housekeeping and meals, transport clients as needed, and monitor changes in

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and assist with meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with the self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring).
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition.

DSP Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.)

DSP Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and one year of in-home care services experience
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation, required for member transportation. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance is required.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated, and well-organized
• Comfortable using an electronic device.
