Job summary

Addus HomeCare is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help seniors and people with disabilities live independently. Earn up to $15.68 per hour with flexible hours, daily and weekly pay options, travel reimbursement, and direct deposit.

The role focuses on implementing care plans, assisting with daily activities, and supporting client safety and wellbeing. This entry-level position offers meaningful, career-building work in a growing company known for its people-first approach and community

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring).
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition.

DSP Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and assist with meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with the self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring)
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition.

DSP Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and one year of in-home care services experience
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation, required for member transportation. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance is required.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated, and well-organized
• Comfortable using an electronic device.
