What You'll Do
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will:
- Provide direct care, supervision, instruction, and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Promote independence, dignity, self-determination, and community inclusion.
- Implement individualized service plans, teaching strategies, and positive behavior support plans.
- Assist participants with personal development goals, life skills training, communication, socialization, and community engagement.
- Create and facilitate engaging activities that support learning, cognitive development, and personal growth.
- Support individuals during community outings, recreational activities, educational workshops, and volunteer opportunities.
- Encourage positive relationships and meaningful participation within the community.
- Monitor participant progress and communicate concerns or changes to program leadership.
- Complete documentation, data collection, assessments, and required reports accurately and timely.
- Assist with activities of daily living, meals, and personal care as needed.
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and supportive environment.
- Transport individuals safely using company vehicles.
- Maintain confidentiality and promptly report any concerns regarding participant health, safety, abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
- Work collaboratively with Site Managers, QDDPs, team members, families, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work effectively with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (if required for transportation duties)
- Ability to complete required background checks and training requirements
- Commitment to promoting dignity, respect, and person-centered supports
Preferred
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Human services, healthcare, education, or related experience
- Experience implementing behavior support strategies or individualized service plans
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
Schedule
- Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available
- Flexible scheduling based on program needs
- Daytime hours with occasional special events or community activities
- Additional hours may be available as needed
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and assist individuals throughout the day
- Ability to lift, transfer, or provide support as needed within program guidelines
- Ability to accompany and supervise individuals during community activities and outings
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
