Job summary

AmeriWell Care in Manchester, NJ, is seeking an Overnight Respite Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide in-home overnight respite for an adult with developmental disabilities. The role runs 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM, with part-time or full-time availability.

The DSP will supervise and support the individual, ensure safety and well-being, assist with personal care, document progress, and coordinate with family and staff. A valid driver's license and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Experience with behavioral support needs is highly desirable.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain awake, alert, and attentive throughout the overnight shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight supervision and support in the individual's home.
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the individual throughout the shift.
• Assist with personal care as needed.
• Monitor for behavioral or medical concerns and follow established support plans.
• Complete required documentation and progress notes accurately and timely.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
• Communicate effectively with family members, agency staff, and support team members.
• Follow all agency policies, NJ DDD regulations, Danielle's Law, and incident reporting requirements.
