Job summary

Flathead Industries in Montana is seeking compassionate individuals to become DSPs for people with disabilities. As Life Mentor, you’ll empower others, build lasting relationships and provide guidance and support throughout the day-to-day.

The role focuses on teaching community living skills, promoting independence, and assisting with meals, budgeting, and transportation, while ensuring safety and fostering collaboration with families and professionals.

Qualifications

• Education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and completion of occupationally-specific training.
• Ability to pass a criminal and other background checks.
• Possession of a Montana Driver's license and maintain a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Teach and demonstrate community living skills to consumers with developmental disabilities.
• Promote independence and help consumers maintain current skills.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with consumers, family/friends and outside professionals.
• Assist with meal preparation, meal planning, budgeting, cleaning, transportation and recreational opportunities.
• Provide safety training to all consumers.

Job Summary

This person will provide safety training to all consumers.

• 4 to 5 day work week
• 8 to 10 hour shifts

Requirements

The position requires education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and completion of occupationally-specific training.

Ability to pass a criminal and other background checks.

Possession of a Montana Driver's license and maintain a good driving record in order to meet the requirement for insurability to be covered by company vehicle insurance.
