Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with IDD in Goldsboro, NC and surrounding areas. This part-time daytime role emphasizes compassionate in-home support and community-based care.

You will help with daily tasks, personal care, transportation, and documentation, while gaining hands-on experience with a dedicated team focused on safety, respect, and empowerment.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge: basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Skills: interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.
• Technology: proficiency with EHR systems or willingness to learn.
• Transportation: reliable transport, driver's license, and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
• Assist with daily tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing, toiletry and diaper changes; and employment support.
• Transport the client to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize their schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.

Position details: Part‑time day shifts.

Location: Goldsboro, NC and surrounding areas with local community travel.

• Provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
