Job summary

Addus Homecare in the United States is seeking an entry-level Direct Support Professional to provide in-home support to seniors and people with disabilities. Earn up to $15.68 per hour with flexible hours and meaningful career growth in a growing, values-driven company.

As a DSP, you’ll follow care plans, assist with personal care, light housekeeping, meal prep, and transportation to appointments, while reporting changes in condition and maintaining client dignity and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with proof of insurance.
• Ability to follow written/verbal instructions and work with limited supervision.
• Comfortable using an electronic device.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments and daily errands as needed.
• Assist with self-administration of medications (no handling).
• Observe and report changes in the member's condition.

DSP Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and assist with meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with the self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring)
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition.

DSP Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and one year of in-home care services experience
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation, required for member transportation. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance is required.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated, and well-organized
• Comfortable using an electronic device.
