Job summary

Gateway Residential Services in Evansville, IN is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities. You will assist clients with daily living activities, encourage community involvement, and facilitate skill-building activities in a compassionate work environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, strong interpersonal skills, and experience in caregiving. Successful applicants will work Monday to Friday, from 8am to 4pm, including some weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in direct support or caregiving roles is a plus.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

About the Role

Join Gateway Residential Services as a Direct Support Professional and make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities. We are dedicated to empowering our clients to achieve their personal goals in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Current position includes the following days and times: Monday to Friday 8am-4pm, working every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Encourage social interactions and community involvement through planned activities.
• Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health to the supervisory team.
• Maintain a safe and clean-living environment for clients.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized support plans.
• Facilitate skill-building activities that promote independence and self-advocacy.
• Adhere to all company policies and state regulations regarding client care and safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications preferred.
• Experience in direct support or caregiving roles is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with clients and families.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.
