Advancing Opportunities, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Demarest, NJ to provide person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will help with daily living skills, community participation, and promote independence.

This full-time evening schedule (Thu-Mon, 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.) includes weekday and weekend pay differentials and paid training. The role offers meaningful work, competitive benefits, and opportunities to grow within a

Competenze

• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
• Ability to pass state and federal background checks, drug screen, and pre-employment physical.
• PPD screening may be required.

What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide direct care and person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities include:

Qualifications Required

• Must be at least 20 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Compassionate and patient approach with a genuine desire to help others
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain required certification
• Ability to successfully complete:
  • State and federal criminal background checks
  • Drug screening
  • Pre-employment physical
  • PPD screening

Preferred

• Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, human services, healthcare, or a related field
• Additional education or training in a related field

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Thursday through Monday
• 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
• Location: Demarest, NJ
• Weekend hours are paid at $18.15 per hour
