Job summary

Allied Community Care seeks a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings. This part-time role offers flexible scheduling to fit around other commitments.

You will assist with daily living activities, support independence, and promote community engagement while adhering to individualized plans and documenting progress and events. Training is provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Reliable transportation to client homes and community activities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to diverse needs and preferences.
• Willingness to assist with personal care and follow detailed plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals in their homes and in the community.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, light household tasks, and skill-building support.
• Encourage social engagement and community integration through activities such as shopping, parks, events, or hobbies.
• Follow and implement individualized support plans and goals for each person.
• Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, progress notes, and any incidents.

Position Overview

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings. This is a part-time role with flexible scheduling, ideal for someone who is compassionate, reliable, and eager to help others live more independently.

• Job Type: Part-time
• Pay: $16.00 per hour
• Location: Clarksburg, MD
• Schedule: Friday (10 Hours) and Saturday (10 Hours)

What You’ll Do

• Provide direct care and support to individuals in their homes and in the community.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, light household tasks, and basic academic or skill-building support.
• Encourage social engagement and community integration by supporting clients in activities such as shopping, going to the park, attending events, or participating in hobbies.
• Follow and implement individualized support plans and goals tailored to each person’s needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, progress notes, and any incidents, including seizures or other health-related events.

Preferred (not required – we provide training):

• Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Additional education or training in human services or a related field.
