Job summary

Merakey is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for our program in Cinnaminson, NJ. The role involves supporting residents with daily living activities, including housekeeping and laundry, under the supervision of the House Manager.

No experience is required as paid training is provided. Ideal candidates are compassionate, patient, and committed to helping individuals reach their fullest potential, fostering independence and a sense of pride in their daily lives.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess a valid driver's license. (Prefer candidates have their own transportation).
• Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
• Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities and foster independence.
• Teach and encourage residents in housekeeping, laundry, and daily routines.
• Work under the supervision of the House Manager and monitor progress through observations and reports.

Your work is performed in accordance with appropriate procedures under the supervision of the House Manager who reviews results through living area observation of activities in progress, residents’ responsiveness, inspection of living area, reports, and periodic meetings. Make a difference in the life of those you work with to enhance their independence by assisting with daily and personal activities.
