Role Description The Direct Support Professional role is a full-time, on-site position located in Branford, CT. In this role, the professional provides daily support to individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities, including assistance with personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks. Responsibilities include implementing individualized service plans, supporting community outings and recreational activities, and encouraging skill-building and independence. The role also involves monitoring health and safety, documenting services and progress, and communicating effectively with individuals, families, and team members. Direct Support Professionals participate in training, follow agency policies and procedures, and contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and supportive living environment.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills and experience in Human Services and working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.
• Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to interact effectively with individuals, families, and colleagues.
• Candidates should possess the ability to participate in and apply Training related to person-centered care, safety, and agency procedures.
• Relevant experience in residential or community-based support settings is beneficial.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional coursework or certifications in human services or related fields are a plus.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with direct care, follow care plans, and maintain a safe environment.
• Reliable transportation, punctuality, and the ability to work assigned shifts, including evenings or weekends as needed.
