Job summary

ATC Healthcare Services is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide person-centered care to individuals with developmental disabilities in Vermont. DSPs help individuals live independently while promoting dignity, safety, and community inclusion.

Responsibilities include following care plans, assisting with ADLs, coordinating transportation, supporting medication reminders as allowed, and documenting services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Ability to pass all required background screenings.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to lift, transfer, and assist individuals as needed.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support based on each individual's care plan.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation.
• Support individuals with medication reminders or administration as allowed by state policy.
• Encourage independence, life skills, and participation in community activities.
• Transport individuals safely to appointments, activities, and outings.
• Document services provided and complete required reports.
• Monitor changes in health and communicate concerns promptly.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with individuals, families, and team members.

Position Overview

ATC Healthcare is seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide person-centered care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DSPs play a vital role in helping individuals live as independently as possible while promoting dignity, safety, and community inclusion.

This position requires transporting individuals to appointments, community outings, and other activities; therefore, candidates must possess a valid driver\'s license and maintain a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support based on each individual\'s care plan.


• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation.


• Support individuals with medication reminders or medication administration, as permitted by state regulations and employer policy.


• Encourage independence, life skills, and participation in community activities.


• Transport individuals safely to appointments, recreational activities, work programs, and other scheduled outings.


• Document services provided and accurately complete required reports.


• Monitor for changes in physical, emotional, or behavioral health and communicate concerns promptly.


• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.


• Build positive, respectful relationships with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.


• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities preferred but not required.


• Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).


• Ability to pass all required background screenings.

• Clean driving record with an acceptable motor vehicle report (MVR) required.


• Reliable transportation.
