Job summary

DABS, Inc. in California is seeking Direct Support Professionals in two tracks: Personal Attendant (PA) or Skills Instructor (SI). You will support adults in home and community settings, assist with ADLs, and promote independence through skill-building and community involvement.

The role requires empathy, strong communication, documentation, and a willingness to follow care plans. TB clearance, CPR/First Aid, and a CA driver's license are required; full-time and part-time positions are available.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Background check required.
• TB clearance per California public health guidelines.
• Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance if transporting individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent, person-centered supervision in home and community settings.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, and light housekeeping.
• Supervise and document medication administration as needed.
• Transport and accompany individuals to medical and personal appointments.
• Complete daily logs and progress notes per DDS, Regional Center, and agency standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and care planning.
