Job summary

UCP Central PA is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Harrisburg to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role offers full-time hours with Monday–Friday shifts and provides training and certification opportunities, including CPR and First Aid.

You will help individuals make choices, learn daily living skills, and engage in community activities, working closely with families and supervisors to ensure safety and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Entry level position with training provided.
• A valid driver’s license and 6 months of driving experience.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Access to a vehicle with insurance, registration, and inspection.
• Preferred experience as Personal Care Aide, Caregiver, Direct Support Professional, or Direct Care Worker.
• Knowledge of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Encourage independence and everyday decision-making.
• Provide support with daily living skills, personal care, and hygiene.
• Build relationships through clear, effective communication.
• Follow individualized support plans and document progress.
• Assist with adaptive equipment, therapies, and skill-building activities.
• Help plan and participate in social, recreational, and community experiences.
• Collaborate with team members, families, and supervisors to maintain a safe environment.
