Job summary

UCP Central PA is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Harrisburg, PA. The DSP will support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes, assisting with daily needs and promoting independence. This role includes entry-level training, flexible schedules, and competitive pay starting at $19.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Entry level, training provided (some positions require experience).
• A valid driver’s license and 6 months driving experience.
• 18 years of age.
• Access to a vehicle with valid insurance, registration, and inspection.
• Preferred: Previous Personal Care Aide, Caregiver, Direct Support Professional (DSP), or Direct Care Worker experience.
• Preferred: Knowledge of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily living needs, including bathing and grooming.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and life-skill development.
• Build trusting, respectful relationships through effective communication.
• Follow individualized support plans and document progress.
• Assist with health and safety needs, including medication support.
• Promote meaningful activities and community involvement.
