Job summary

RHA Health Services is hiring a Mental Health Direct Support Professional to provide compassionate support in community and residential settings. The role focuses on enabling individuals with mental health and developmental disabilities to communicate needs and achieve personal goals, guided by center plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and one year of experience; or an associate’s degree with three years’ experience or high school diploma or GED and five years of experience working with individuals with mental health and developmental disabilities.
• Ability to support individuals with behavioral challenges and implement crisis management protocols.
• Able to engage with individuals in community and residential settings and promote personal outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with safety procedures and follow company policies during transportation of service users.
• Report incidents and protect the privacy and confidentiality of service users.
• Support person-centered coaching and help individuals develop healthy personal and social skills.
• Assist with transportation to day programs, work sites, appointments and community activities.
