Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of MN (LSS) is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP) in the Fergus Falls area. Start at $17.00/hour with potential raise to $17.50 after six months and a $2,500 hiring bonus. Roles include day, evening, and overnight shifts in a residential setting supporting up to 4 people.

Responsibilities include personal care, documentation, and community involvement, with training provided. A compassionate heart and willingness to help others are essential.

Qualifications

• No prior experience or formal education required.
• Comfort with basic computer use to document care and stay connected with the team.
• Ability to read and write in English for clear communication.
• A valid driver’s license and safe driving record to help people stay active in their community.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check for a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities (personal care, hygiene, meals, household tasks, transportation).
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
• Advocate for rights, needs, and preferences of people served.
• Monitor health and well‑being and report changes as needed.
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
• Support up to 4 residents in a group home setting.
• Work with a collaborative, mission‑driven team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion.
