Legacy SLS Inc in Burbank, CA is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide personalized care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role focuses on promoting independence and dignity through person-centered approaches.

You will assist with daily living activities, transport clients to appointments, and document progress while following ISP plans. A compassionate, patient demeanor and flexible availability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior DSP/caregiver experience preferred.
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a background check and health screening.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong interpersonal, patient, empathetic demeanor.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts as needed.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities
• Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and household tasks
• Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
• Transport and accompany clients to medical appointments, community activities, and recreational outings
• Administer medications and follow health and safety protocols as directed
• Foster independence and skill-building through positive reinforcement and person-centered approaches
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members regarding client needs and progress
