Job summary

Abound Health in Chester, NJ is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD. You will assist with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support to help clients live independently.

This role offers meaningful work and the opportunity to make a real difference for those we serve. Starting pay ranges from $23 to $33 per hour, plus a $1,000 signing bonus paid in installments after meeting hours.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have valid driver's license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required – we provide paid training and support.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Lifting may be required, depending on client needs.

Responsibilities

• Building positive relationships and supporting individuals in achieving personal goals
• Assisting with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks
• Supporting individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities
• Using adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication
• Encouraging independence and helping individuals develop new skills
• Monitoring health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment
• Communicating with Abound team members, families, and external parties as needed
• Completing documentation and maintaining schedules
• Completing in ongoing training and professional development
