Job summary

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is hiring Direct Support Professionals in Hartsville, SC. You will assist individuals with disabilities, follow behavior support plans, and help with daily living activities.

Qualified applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED and 3 years’ experience with individuals with disabilities; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and three years of experience with individuals with disabilities.
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Knowledge of Therap and SCEIS Central time/leave systems.
• Ability to lift, stand, and work in varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a mid-level direct support professional.
• Ensure health and safety per BSP, dining, lifting protocols, and individual support plans.
• Provide guidance to entry-level staff and may work overtime for safety.
• Transport and monitor consumers to/off campus activities and appointments.
• Implement training programs and engage consumers in activities of daily living and group activities.
• Complete data collection and documentation in line with policies.
• Report significant events and suspected abuse.
• Maintain a safe, neat environment and participate in team meetings.
