Job summary

The DSP will work with an interdisciplinary team to provide personalized care, monitor health, and transport clients to appointments while ensuring dignity and privacy at all times.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Driver's license and valid vehicle insurance.
• Must be registered on the Family Care Safety Registry.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; healthcare training a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to individuals with IDD in residential or community settings.
• Assist with daily living activities: cooking, cleaning, hygiene, showering, toileting, and dressing.
• Support grocery shopping, meal preparation, and money management.
• Teach life skills to promote independence and client empowerment.
• Assist with mobility and feeding as needed.
• Transport clients to appointments and activities; ensure safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and document health changes for the team.
• Respect clients' personal rights, dignity, and privacy at all times.
