Job summary

SAILS Washington, part of the Redwood Family Care Network, seeks a Direct Support Professional in Olympia, WA. The role involves helping individuals with developmental disabilities in home and community settings, including personal care, transportation, and promoting independence.

Offering a $500 sign-on bonus, full-time hours, and benefits; applicants must be 18+, pass a background check, and pursue Nurse Assistant Registered credentials within the stated timelines.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Background check required prior to employment.
• Will become Nurse Assistant Registered (NAR) at employee’s own expense initially.
• Must enroll and complete the Nurse Delegation study course within 30 days of employment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and car and be willing to transport clients in their own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to program participants meeting their needs and promoting community integration.
• Ensure daily needs are met including personal hygiene, meals, and health monitoring.
• Assist participants in accessing community activities and transportation as needed.
• Maintain dignity and rights of participants and provide informal counseling.
• Attend required trainings and participate in development of Individual Instruction and Support Plans.
