Job summary

Kahak Health Care Services is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and Residential Sponsors to provide compassionate care in residential and community settings. You will assist with ADLs, mobility, medication support, transportation, and advocacy to promote independence and quality of life.

Residential sponsors may work within their own residence or a designated setting, creating a family-style environment while ensuring safety, compliance, and client rights are observed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in caregiving or DSP preferred (1 year).
• Must be at least 21 years old (preferred for residential sponsor).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and hygiene.
• Support mobility, transfers, and monitor health and well-being.
• Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support.
• Transport to medical appointments, activities, school/work, and community events.
• Encourage community integration and advocate for client rights and goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment and assist with meals and chores.
• Coordinate with families, guardians, case managers, and healthcare providers.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and inspections as required.
