Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC. seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for Forsyth II in Kernersville, NC.

You will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health challenges, helping them engage in community activities and pursue personal goals. Responsibilities include promoting rights and safety, assisting with daily living, coordinating transportation, documenting services, and empowering self-advocacy in a compassionate, person-centered approach.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Pre-employment screening including background checks.
• Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to person-centered support.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for individuals’ human, legal, and civil rights.
• Promote health and safety by supporting wellness initiatives and accident prevention.
• Encourage self-advocacy and empower individuals in making their own choices.
• Facilitate community engagement by accompanying individuals to work, recreational activities, and social events.
• Teach and support independent living skills, including household management and personal care.
• Provide transportation for appointments, errands, and community activities.
• Foster social connections by supporting relationship-building within the community.
• Maintain accurate documentation of provided services and support.
