Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC in North Carolina is hiring a Caregiver / Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health/substance use challenges in community settings.

You will assist with daily living, transportation, personal care, and advocacy, helping clients achieve their goals through their Centered Plan. This on-going, hands-on role emphasizes respect, confidentiality, and person-centered service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass pre-employment screening including background checks and registry verifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide education on human, legal, and civil rights.
• Promote healthy living and prevent illness and accidents.
• Accompany people to work, the movies, concerts, shopping, and other community outings.
• Teach independent living skills.
• Provide transportation to appointments.
• Foster positive relationships within the community.
• Promote decision-making about living, work, and social relationships.
• Assist with personal care and bathing, and light home duties.
• Document the care you provide.
• Connect people with resources for career, education, volunteering opportunities.
