Job summary

Turning Point of Central California, Inc. seeks a Direct Service Professional to provide direct care for residents under the Program Director’s supervision. You will support treatment plans, document progress, and help residents develop daily living skills within a supportive team.

The role requires prior direct care work with developmental disabilities, ability to communicate in English, and readiness to complete DSP training and CPR/First Aid certifications within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Six months’ prior experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Must meet the minimum age of 21 pursuant to California Health & Safety Code Section 1562.
• Ability to write acceptable progress reports required for treatment documentation.
• Complete RBT Training and certification within 90 days of employment.
• Complete DSP Year one within 6 months of employment and Year 2 within 1 year of employment.
• Complete and Maintain CPR/First Aid/Water Safety Certifications within 7 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to doctors’ appointments and laboratories for tests.

• Participate in carrying out individual and group treatment programs for residents and encourage participation in treatment activities.
• Motivate residents to develop self-reliance in daily living.
• Observe patient’s physical condition and report changes to the Program Director.
• Respond to emergency health situations per first aid training.
• Think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
• Physical presence at the program is required.

JOB SUMMARY

The Direct Service Professional reports to the Program Director and is responsible for providing direct care services specialized to assist residents of the program in achieving their treatment goals, under the direct supervision of the Program Director.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
