Qualifications

• At least 2 years writing direct response copy for paid advertising.
• Experience writing video scripts - VSLs, UGC, or short-form video ads.
• Portfolio of scripts or ad copy that ran in live campaigns with actual spend.
• Ability to explain the strategy behind your creative decisions and speak to campaign performance.
• Strong grasp of direct response fundamentals: hooks, offers, audience awareness, objection handling, and calls to action.
• Familiarity with paid advertising metrics - CPL, CTR, hook rate, thumb-stop rate, ROAS.
• Excellent written English with a natural ear for how people actually speak on camera.
• Ability to work Eastern Time business hours with a reliable remote setup.

Responsibilities

• Write video ad creative. Produce the scripts above on a consistent cadence across our client roster.
• Research and develop creative angles. Study client practice areas, target audiences, pain points, objections, and motivations to develop messaging that lands.
• Analyze winning ads. Review top-performing campaigns and competitor creative to identify patterns and build new testing opportunities.
• Improve underperforming creative. Work with the media buying team to diagnose whether the issue is the hook, the offer, the angle, or the audience - then rewrite accordingly.
• Develop structured creative tests. Partner with media buyers to test hooks, angles, formats, and messaging variations systematically.
• Brief the creative team. Give clear direction and shootable scripts to video editors and designers.
