Job summary

Hamilton Company in Reno, NV is seeking a Buyer II/III Direct Materials to purchase direct materials for assigned commodities per MRP from approved suppliers. You will collaborate with stakeholders to implement commodity strategies, mitigate risk, ensure supply, and drive cost efficiencies.

Key duties include negotiating costs, managing P.O.s, coordinating with accounting and engineering on supplier setups, tracking lead times, and supporting NPI transfers to production.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Business, Supply chain or related field from a regionally accredited University.
• 5+ years of purchasing experience.
• 3+ years in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Experience in managing multiple commodities and with D365 and SAP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate costs, evaluate and maintain inventory to target safety stock levels.
• Work with accounting to set up new suppliers and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Coordinate with engineering and stakeholders to mitigate risk and ensure supply.
• Proactively manage P.O.s for accuracy including costs and delivery dates.
• Support NPI project transfers to production ensuring material coverage across lead times.
