Ares Management is seeking an Analyst/Associate in Direct Lending Portfolio Management in Los Angeles. The role focuses on portfolio monitoring, valuation, analytics, and restructurings across the direct lending strategy.

You will engage with deal teams, investor relations, accounting, finance, and operations to deliver insights and support decision-making. The position emphasizes strong financial analysis and credit-underwriting abilities for ongoing portfolio oversight.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to analyze financial statements, cash flows, and credit metrics.
• Strong communication and presentation skills across internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience with financial modeling, valuations, and deal diligence is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage 15-20 corporate debt and equity investments with KPIs and milestones.
• Perform quarterly mark-to-market valuations and assist with re-underwrites and amendments.
• Support deal teams with opportunity-level diligence on active investments.
• Develop and produce periodic and ad hoc reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Lead lender calls, diligence calls, and attend board meetings with portfolio company management teams and sponsors.
• Analyze portfolio trends and track market activity across the direct lending landscape.
