Job summary

Selby Jennings partners with a leading private credit manager to add an Analyst or Associate to its Lower Middle Market Direct Lending team. The role involves evaluating, underwriting, and executing debt investments in sponsor-backed companies across industries.

The team provides exposure to deal screening, financial modeling, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring, with opportunities to work closely with senior investment professionals and company management throughout the deal lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years in investment banking, leveraged finance, credit investing, private debt, corporate banking, transaction advisory, or related field.
  • Strong financial modeling, accounting, and analytical skills.
  • Experience evaluating leveraged transactions and performing credit analysis preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and intellectual curiosity.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new direct lending opportunities across a broad range of industries.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, including downside and scenario analyses.
  • Perform credit underwriting, industry research, and company diligence.
  • Prepare investment memoranda and presentation materials for internal approval processes.
  • Participate in management meetings, lender calls, and due diligence sessions.
  • Support transaction execution, including documentation review and coordination with external advisors.
  • Assist with ongoing portfolio management and monitoring of existing investments.
  • Work closely with senior investment professionals on all aspects of the deal lifecycle.

Job description

We are partnering with a leading private credit manager seeking to add an Analyst or Associate to its Lower Middle Market Direct Lending team. This individual will play an active role in evaluating, underwriting, and executing debt investments in sponsor-backed companies across a variety of industries.

The team focuses on providing tailored financing solutions to lower middle market businesses and offers substantial exposure to all aspects of the investment process, including deal screening, financial analysis, due diligence, transaction execution, and portfolio monitoring.

Responsibilities
