Job description

Flex is the diversified manufacturing partner of choice that helps market-leading brands design, build and deliver innovative products that improve the world. A career at Flex offers the opportunity to make a difference and invest in your growth in a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative environment. If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, Axiom, with the spin planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, a company focused on critical digital infrastructure and delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

The Direct Labor Recruiter/HR Generalist will be based onsite in Columbia, South Carolina, reporting to the Site HR Team. This role serves as a trusted partner to managers and employees by supporting employee relations, talent development, workforce planning, and direct labor recruiting activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recruitment/HR professional who enjoys a fast-paced manufacturing environment and wants to make a direct impact on employee experience and business results. The role combines traditional HR Generalist responsibilities with hands‑on recruiting support, helping ensure the site attracts, develops, and retains top talent while supporting operational growth and workforce demands.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:
  • Partner with managers to support employee relations, workforce planning, talent development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Lead and support direct labor recruiting activities, including sourcing candidates, screening applicants, coordinating interviews, and recommending qualified talent.
  • Manage employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, orientation, performance processes, employee transitions, and separations.
  • Advise managers on HR policies, employment practices, employee concerns, and compliance with applicable labor laws and company standards.
  • Create and maintain job postings, recruitment materials, and candidate communications while ensuring an equitable and positive candidate experience.
  • Coordinate hiring events, job fairs, community outreach efforts, and recruiting partnerships to build talent pipelines for current and future workforce needs.
  • Support compensation, benefits, training, and HR programs while partnering with Centers of Excellence to implement site initiatives.
  • Analyze workforce trends and HR metrics to support business decisions and recommend actions that improve retention, engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Occasionally participate in special projects, site events, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional teams that support site objectives.
Here is some of what you’ll need (required):
  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, employee relations, recruiting, talent acquisition, or a related field, preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organization, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
Here are a few of our preferred experiences:
  • Experience supporting high-volume direct labor recruiting.
  • Experience partnering with production leaders in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of employment law, employee relations, workforce planning, and talent acquisition best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
