Job description

Jogan Health is looking for experienced Respiratory Therapist to serve as the department manager for a Certified Level II Trauma Center in Boulder, Colorado.

Pay Local: $38.96 - $58.44/hr based on experience

Sign on Bonus: $10,000

Estimated Hours: 40 hours weekly

Schedules: 8 hour day shifts

Contract Type: Direct Hire

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs primary functions of a manager in planning, marketing, assessing, implementing, program development, evaluating the operation of this department; strives to promote teamwork inter- and intra-departmentally, working professionally with the community and physicians.

Upon request of the physician, and/or registered nurse, or per protocol initiates and performs basic and advanced respiratory care techniques and with knowledge sets up, operates and maintains various types of respiratory care equipment utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and/or illness. Under the direction of the department director, utilizes management skills to perform day-to-day operations for the provision of respiratory care services. Provides consultation and technical assistance to physicians, nursing personnel and other clinical personnel regarding respiratory care treatments, procedures and ventilator management. Maintains and supports quality monitoring activities.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education or Formal Training
  1. Degree in Respiratory Therapy as required by CRT or RRT with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Special Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, etc.)
  1. Certified or Registered by NBRC
  2. BLS

  16. Need to maintain confidential material and happenings.
  17. Ability to provide supervision to a variety and often large number of persons

Experience
  1. Five+ years’ experience as a Respiratory Therapist working with a broad spectrum of respiratory.
  2. Must be knowledgeable in the domain of inpatient and outpatient respiratory therapy.
  3. Three-year management and supervisory experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Accomplishes department objectives by managing staff; planning and evaluating department activities.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
  1. Provide respiratory care services to patients of all ages 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in all appropriate units/areas within the hospital. Requires walking, bending, lifting, pushing, repetitive compressing, stretching.
  2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to constantly stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to stoop, crouch and twist. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, squat and sit.
  3. The employee must be able to consistently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 10 pounds, frequently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally support, push, pull and/or transfer up to 50 pounds (for example, moving a patient from a wheelchair to a bed.)
  4. Functional physical demands include manual dexterity, fine motor skills and reaching. The following senses will be needed for essential duties of the job: speech, vision, hearing, smell and touch.
