Job summary

JEVS is a leading nonprofit in the Philadelphia area seeking compassionate, dependable Direct Care Workers to join the Community Living & Home Supports (CLHS) team. This floater position offers shifts across homes, including weekends, with a starting pay of $19.09/hour.

You will provide person-centered support to adults with disabilities, assist with daily living, and help with community activities while maintaining a safe, welcoming home environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support to adults with disabilities, promoting dignity, choice, independence and self-determination.
• Assist with daily living and personal care (meals, bathing, dressing, toileting, household tasks, medication administration).
• Support community involvement and skill development by accompanying individuals to appointments and activities.
• Maintain a safe, supportive home environment with individualized service plans and health and safety procedures.
• Document and communicate effectively by completing records and reporting changes to supervisors and the team.

This is afloater position, which means you’ll bring your support and care to different homes and locations. Flexibility is key—you’ll work a variety of shifts, including weekends (Saturday & Sunday).

What You’ll Do

• Provide person-centered support to adults with intellectual, physical, and/or behavioral disabilities, promoting dignity, choice, independence, and self-determination.
• Assist with daily living and personal care, including meals, bathing, dressing, toileting, household tasks, medication administration, and other needs based on the individual’s support plan.
• Support community involvement and skill development by accompanying individuals to appointments, recreational activities, volunteer opportunities, and other community experiences.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and welcoming home environment, while implementing individualized service plans, behavioral strategies, and health and safety procedures.
• Document and communicate effectively by completing required records, monitoring and reporting changes in individuals’ health or behavior, and working collaboratively with supervisors and the individual’s support team.
