AbaCares Services is seeking a Direct Care Worker to assist clients with daily activities, meals, hygiene, mobility, and independent living in a supportive home-care setting.

You will work 32 hours weekly on Tue/Thu/Sat mornings, require a HS diploma, empathy, reliability, and the ability to lift and use assistive devices like a Hoyer Lift. Join a compassionate team committed to dignity and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Meal preparation and serving.

• Dressing and mobility assistance, including stairs and transfers.
• Support with eating and nutritional needs.
• Phone use assistance as needed.
• Familiarity with using a Hoyer Lift when required.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Care Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist clients with personal care and household tasks to help them maintain their independence and quality of life. This role requires a high level of professionalism, empathy, and a strong commitment to client care.

Key Responsibilities

• - Meal Preparation: Assist with planning, preparing, and serving meals.
• - Housework/Chore: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and other chores.
• - Managing Medications: Assist with medication reminders and management.
• - Hygiene: Assist with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and toileting.
• - Dressing: Assist with dressing and undressing, ensuring client comfort and appropriateness.
• - Locomotion: Assist with mobility, including walking, using stairs, and transferring from one place to another.
• - Eating: Assist with feeding and meeting nutritional needs.
• - Phone Use: Assist with making phone calls as needed.
• - Must know how to use a Hoyer Lift, sometimes needed

Requirements

• - High school diploma or equivalent.
• - Previous experience in caregiving or a related field preferred.
• - Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
• - Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.

• - Ability to handle physical demands such as lifting and assisting with mobility.
