Job summary

CARC, Inc. is seeking a Direct Care Support Worker to assist residents with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. You will help residents build daily living skills, coordinate with the care team, and lead group activities to foster independence and inclusion.

The role requires working mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays with starting pay of $16.50 per hour plus potential incentives and bonuses for higher hourly rates. CARC, Inc.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities or residential settings is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Respect for rights and privacy of residents.
• Ability to respond calmly in crisis situations.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Proficiency in basic documentation.
• Must pass NM Department of Health background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a positive and supportive relationship with residents, ensuring their overall well-being and safety.
• Provide assistance and training to residents in daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and household chores.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for residents.
• Facilitate group activities and social events to encourage social interaction and community engagement.
• Support residents in developing and enhancing their independent living skills, such as budgeting, transportation, and job readiness.
• Monitor and document residents' progress and behaviors, reporting any concerns or incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
• Foster a culturally sensitive and inclusive environment that respects and values the diversity of residents and promotes their self-advocacy.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of care governing residential facilities.
